Course Content at a Glance
The main intention of this first-aid seminar is to equip attendees with the bespoke skill sets required to deal with potentially serious situations. From a broad perspective, individuals will learn how to manage an emergency incident so that they are capable of reacting appropriately. A handful of topics which are included within this course cover issues such as resuscitation and the proper use of defibrillators, addressing shock and a loss of consciousness, immobilising spinal injuries, recognising and mitigating the effects of hypoxia, safely removing helmets, stemming excessive bleeding, and circulatory injuries. The main intention is to provide attendees with a working and hands-on knowledge of how to respond to these (and other) medical emergencies.
Embracing a Proactive Approach
Some cycling injuries can be quite serious (such as if a vehicle is involved). This is why it is critical to appreciate the basic first-aid tactics to employ. These responses could very well equate to the difference between life and death during severe situations.
