Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults Course

Our Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults course is intended to ensure that delegates understand what constitutes abuse and harm, how people may be at risk, and why this risk may arise. It enables delegates to identify types of abuse and harm. The course specifically looks at the role and accountability of staff in the reporting process, examining the legislative requirements and the application of company policy in dealing with adult safeguarding.

  • Understand what is meant by the term "vulnerable adult”
  • Different types of abuse
  • Signs and symptoms of abuse
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures
  • Procedure for whistleblowing
  • Legislation
  • Reporting and record keeping

The course is delivered in 3 hours, and candidates must demonstrate a willingness to learn and interact during group activities. The training venue should be quiet and undisturbed. Staff should not be expected to be on duty. Staff attending should remain for the entire length of the session.
