Visual and Hearing Impairment Awareness Course
Our Visual and Hearing Impairment Awareness course aims to raise awareness of the causes and effects of visual and hearing impairments, as well as ways to identify, cope with, and potentially treat them. Delegates will come away from this course with an understanding of successful methods of communication with the visually or aurally impaired; this makes the course content ideal for care sector staff as well as anyone caring for, or living with, an impaired friend or relative.

- Signs and symptoms of visual and hearing impairment
- Causes
- Structure of the ear
- Structure of the eye
- Treatment
- Checks
- Communicating
The course is delivered in 2 hours and candidates must demonstrate a willingness to learn along with interaction of group activities. The training venue should be quiet and undisturbed. Staff should not be expected to be on duty Staff attending should remain for the entire length of the session.
