Course Details
This course provides an in-depth guide to the ABCDE approach for managing medical emergencies within a UK dental practice. It is designed to equip the entire dental team with the skills to recognise when a patient is deteriorating, implement steps to prevent their condition from worsening, and identify the point at which a situation becomes a medical emergency requiring urgent intervention.
The course content is aligned with the requirements set by the General Dental Council (GDC) and the Resuscitation Council UK, ensuring it is relevant for your verifiable Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Course Structure and Assessment
You will first be guided through a concise presentation covering the core principles of the ABCDE assessment method. Following the presentation, you will complete an assessment to test your understanding.
To successfully pass the course, a score of 80% or higher is required. Upon passing, you will receive a printable certificate to include in your CPD portfolio. If you do not achieve the passing score, you will have the opportunity to review the course materials and retake the assessment when you feel ready.
