Autoclave Testing and Validation
This course explains the testing and validation procedures required for benchtop sterilisers in dental practice.
Course Details
- All dental practices are required by HTM 01-05 to perform routine testing and validation on their decontamination equipment.
- You will be presented with a coursebook followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
- Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download.
- If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.
Aims
This course will provide learners with details of the testing and validation procedures required for a benchtop steriliser within a dental practice.

- Understand what a steam penetration test is and how it is performed.
- Understand what an automatic control test is and how it is performed.
- Understand what an air leakage test is and how it is performed.
