Aims
The primary aim of this course is to ensure that all dental professionals fully understand their ethical and legal responsibilities regarding the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults. It provides a comprehensive overview of the essential protocols and procedures required to implement effective safeguarding measures within a UK dental practice setting.
Objectives
During this course, learners will:
- Clarify the specific safeguarding roles and responsibilities of the entire dental team.
- Define the critical duties and leadership function of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
- Establish clear pathways for raising safeguarding concerns internally.
- Demonstrate the correct procedures for referring safeguarding concerns to external agencies promptly and effectively.
