This course provides essential guidance on surface cleaning and disinfection in clinical areas, a fundamental part of infection prevention and control in any dental practice. Learners will gain a clear understanding of the correct protocols, product selection, and techniques required to maintain a safe environment for both patients and the dental team.
Format and Assessment
You will be provided with a concise coursebook, followed by an online assessment. A pass mark of 80% is required to earn your downloadable certificate. If you do not pass on the first attempt, you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

This course aims to provide learners with a thorough understanding of what surface cleaning is, why it is critical, and when it must be performed in a clinical setting.

- Identify when surface cleaning should be performed, such as between patients and at the end of a session.
- Recognise when and why alcohol-based products can and cannot be used on clinical surfaces.
- Understand when and how to use spray disinfectant products correctly, considering contact time and material compatibility.
