Our First Aid at Work Course is designed to train staff to act quickly, safely, and with confidence during an emergency. It is ideal for medium to large workplaces and higher-risk environments, such as construction sites, warehouses, factories, and industrial settings.

This 3-day First Aid at Work course teaches you how to recognise injuries and illnesses, give correct first aid, and manage life-threatening situations until emergency services arrive.

First Aid at Work Course Content

During the training, you will learn how to:

• Understand first aid laws, responsibilities, and reporting

• Safely assess an emergency situation

• Help an unconscious casualty

• Perform CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)

• Use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

• Recognise and respond to heart attacks

• Help someone who is choking

• Deal with poisoning

• Control bleeding and apply bandages

• Treat fractures and broken bones

• Manage burns and scalds

• Respond to head and eye injuries

AEDs and Cardiac Arrest in the Workplace

Cardiac arrest is a serious risk at work. Around 13% of workplace deaths are caused by cardiac arrest, yet many workplaces still do not have an AED.

An AED (Automated External Defibrillator) can restart the heart and save a life when used quickly. AEDs are becoming more common in workplaces, including offices and dental practices.

This course teaches learners how to:

• Use an AED safely

• Stay calm and act fast during cardiac emergencies

• Work confidently alongside emergency services
